Missing Child Procedure

If a child is missing, carry out a through search of the premises and surrounding area, making sure not to leave the other children unattended. If after 5 minutes the child is not found then the leader in charge to telephone the following immediately.

• Child's parent/carer in register/children's information file
• Police (999)
• CSSIW

Give the following information:

• Name of group
• Who is ringing
• The play leader in charge
• The name of the missing child
• Child's address
• Telephone number
• Brief description of child

Do not speak to the press/media.
