No Smoking Policy

The playgroup committee recognises the growing concern among non-smokers and health experts about the potential risks to the health of those who do not smoke, from exposure to tobacco smoke at work. In order to ensure a smoke free environment for playgroup staff and children and others on the school campus the playgroup committee has agreed the following policy.

Objective

To minimise the potential health hazards to non smokers of exposure to environmental tobacco smoke whilst at playgroup or on the school campus.

To create a healthier environment for playgroup staff, children, parents and others who use the school campus.

All staff are not permitted to smoke on the school campus this forms part of their contract of employment any breach of this prohibition will result in disciplinary action/possible dismissal.

Local rules which already prohibit smoking for reasons of hygiene or safety are not affected by this policy.

This policy of no smoking applies to all visitors to the school campus and all staff should seek to ensure their visitors comply with its requirements.
