Outings Policy

Consent forms for all outings are signed during the registration process for playgroup. Parent/carers are invited to attend outings. 2 staff members will carry out a risk assessment prior to all outings. A qualified first aider must attend all outings. Outings will be appropriate for the age of children and their interests.

Items to be taken on outings

First aid box, register including names telephone numbers of contacts for staff and children, and mobile phone will be taken on all outings. A bucket, some water and changes of clothes will be taken on outings by bus.

Seating and adult ratios

Appropriate seat belts/child seats must be used. Maximum seating will not be exceeded. Adult/child ratio will be 1 adult to 4 children at all times. An extra adult needs to be available in case of emergencies to enable ratios to be adhered to.

Register and checks during outings

A Note will be taken on arrival of the children and the register taken on the bus. A note will be made if anyone gets off the bus during the journey for any reason and it will be checked they get back on the bus. When boarding the bus to return the register will be taken.

Transport arrangements

Llanddulas Playgroup normally uses a coach hire firm for transport. If traveling by car is to be considered, the following needs to be adhered to:

  • Adults not taking their own child must be police checked and have the appropriate level of insurance, current MOT and driving licenses.
  • A list will be kept of all vehicles, drivers' licenses and mot certificates if traveling by car.
