Volunteer in Playroom Policy

Staff welcome parental involvement in the group, parents are a Childs first educators and can provide important in put on their child. Parent/carers who wish to help should speak to the play leader or deputy play leader who will discuss suitable times etc.

Criminal Records Bureaux checks

All people who have regular contact with the children need to be CRB checked, this involves filling in a form and providing evidence of who you are.

Other ways of helping us besides in the playroom

• Being an active member of the playgroup committee, always lots of fundraising etc.
• Helping on trips or outings, regular walks.
• Doing playgroup shopping.
• Washing aprons and tea towels.
• Washing toys.
• Photocopying for playgroup.
• Helping at coffee mornings etc on the stalls.
• Helping with administration duties e.g. cake plates, writing names on letters etc.

If you wish you may under take some training courses alongside staff to build your knowledge of working in preschool education.
